Saturday, May 30th, 2009Kenexa Earns Three Creative Awards
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009Kenexa, a global provider of talent acquisition and retention solutions, was awarded three Creative Excellence Awards for its work in Employment Branding.
Creative Excellence Awards is an awards program sponsored by Recruitment Marketplace and established to recognize outstanding achievement in recruitment advertising and marketing. Awards were presented at the SHRM Staffing Management Conference & Exposition held in Las Vegas, Nev. April 28 – 30, 2009.
Kenexa placed first in “Best Self Promotion Multimedia Campaign” awarded for its internal efforts on Kenexa’s employment branding campaign that included messaging, artwork, a new career site, a cultural video, prints, thank you cards, signage and giveaways for employees including calendars, t-shirts and coffee mugs.
Kenexa also placed first in “Best Temporary Employment Print Ad” awarded for client work done on behalf of a leading direct marketer of value-priced novelties, toys and party supplies, and a leading direct marketer of home décor products, and “Best Radio Ad” for a placement on behalf of United Healthcare Group, a diversified health and well-being company operating in four segments: Health Care Services, OptumHealth, Ingenix and Prescription Solutions and headquartered in Minnesota.
A panel of creative and professional talent in marketing and human resources judges all entries. Each judge independently scores an entry based upon specific category criteria and an automated entry system scores every category — judges do not know which organization developed the entries they are judging.
“We are honored to be recognized by Recruitment Marketplace and to accept these awards on our clients’ behalf,” said Rudy Karsan, CEO, Kenexa. “These awards are a great reflection of the clients we work with, our commitment to the industry, and the efforts and expertise of our marketing and employment branding team. We look forward to producing more award-winning work for our current and future clients.”

Monday, May 18th, 2009mJob has partnered with Bayard Advertising, a full-service recruitment communications company.
Bayard Advertising partners with employers to save time and money by developing interactive strategies, employer brand campaigns, weekly ad creation and placement and Web site design.
The new partnership will allow Bayard’s clients the option of including a mobile initiative powered by mJob to enhance their current sourcing and candidate management campaigns.
“Our alliance with mJob gives us a competitive advantage to offer the best mobile marketing solutions available,” Eric Holwell, director of of Interactive Services at Bayard Advertising, said. “In addition to standard text messaging campaigns, mJob expands our scope of services to include bluecasting, scan marketing and WAP site development which can host our clients’ jobs in a readable format designed for mobile handsets. Targeted SEO and SEM strategies are available as well which will assist in taking advantage of the 20 million people who search on a mobile handset.”
“Bayard is a well-respected, long-standing company in this industry, and mJob is proud to be delivering solutions in tandem with their current array of services,” mJob Founder Joel Cheesman said. “This partnership ensures that Bayard’s clients can take advantage of the latest mobile technologies to ensure an effective, efficient mobile strategy.”

A recent study by the CDC shows that for the first time, cell phones outnumber fixed lines as a household’s unique phone. The study found one in five homes have a cell phone but no land line.

CKR Interactive Expands with mJob
Monday, May 4th, 2009CKR Interactive has partnered with mJob to expand its ExCELLerate solution.
CKR Interactive has announced that it has expanded ExCELLerate to include mobile job sites, scan marketing and Bluecasting. ExCELLerate is the company’s complete, mobile recruitment marketing solution. The new features will bring together CKR Interactive’s recruitment advertising expertise and mJob’s cutting-edge mobile technology to enable employers to launch well-rounded, successful mobile recruiting campaigns.
“CKR Interactive is excited about our new partnership with mJob, as their robust mobile marketing solutions and well-rounded knowledge of the recruitment industry will further expand and strengthen our mobile recruitment marketing solution – ExCELLerate,” Skye Callan, manager of interactive product development, said.
“We’re looking forward to helping our clients take advantage of this technology,” Callan continued. “Mobile recruitment marketing will allow them to target and attract prospective candidates (both active and passive), as well as maintain ongoing communications with their pipeline of top talent, and is a great addition to any recruitment marketing plan.”
Part of the expansion will include mobile job sites. ExCELLerate’s mobile job search sites will allow employers to guarantee that any potential candidate with a mobile Web browser can view their jobs in any of the thousands of mobile formats and easily apply to them through the employer’s applicant tracking system.
The expansion also will include scan marketing, a feature that brings employers’ jobs and employment brand to life with a camera phone, delivering real-time content to job seekers when they’re engaged with the employer and potential job opportunities.
Finally, the expansion will include Bluecasting. This is the ultimate in proximity marketing, allowing employers to send out customized messages to prospective candidates with Bluetooth-enabled phones. This new feature will be great for career fairs and college recruiting events, among other things.
ExCELLerate will enable instant message delivery to prospects who are interested in an employer’s opportunities, making it easier to attract active and passive candidates. This solution is scalable for companies of any size and is well-suited for global companies or organizations with multiple locations.
“I’m pleased that mJob will be able to assist CKR Interactive’s clients with their mobile initiatives,” mJob CEO Joel Cheesman said. “CKR Interactive recognized that providing their clients with the option of a mobile site ensures they remain on the cutting-edge of recruiting technology and gives their clients a leg-up in an increasingly competitive landscape. We look forward to powering these initiatives and helping their clients enjoy a productive, cost-effective mobile strategy.”

50% of MySpace Traffic Will Be Mobile
Thursday, April 30th, 2009MySpace is no doubt getting its butt kicked on the desktop by rival Facebook, but the former heavyweight champ is taking the fight to a mobile device near you. According to Mobile Marketing Watch, “MySpace is reporting that its mobile usage increased nearly 500 perent last year, with users ‘now generating 7 billion mobile page views per month.’”
What’s driving the growth? Applications, apparently. According to MySpace vice president and general manager of mobile operations John Faith, who spoke at the Nokia Developer Summit in Monte Carlo, in the last year, “MySpace went from less than 10 percent of its mobile traffic originating from mobile applications (vs. the mobile web) to approximately 35 percent.”
All impressive, but maybe most interesting is the estimate that 50 percent of all MySpace traffic “within the next few years,” will be mobile. Not sure what “next few years” means, but it sounds sooner rather than later.
Facebook, however, is likely on a similar path. We noted in Feb. 2009 that 13 percent of all FB traffic was via mobile. And that number has likely gone up since then.
As social networking sites gain traction with recruiting, the mobile component cannot be ignored.
